What is Niacinamide?
Niacinamide is the amide form of vitamin B3, water-soluble, and stable at a wide range of pH. It is one of the few actives that can be layered with almost anything without breaking down.
How Niacinamide works
Niacinamide boosts the production of ceramides in the skin, which strengthens the barrier and reduces water loss. It also inhibits the transfer of melanin to the surface skin cells, which lightens hyperpigmentation over eight to twelve weeks. Ten percent formulations have been shown to reduce sebum production in oily skin.
